Existence appears as non-interruption.
Consciousness is the name for a case
in which this non-interruption appears as a whole —
not as another layer of reality,
but as a situation in which the course carries the whole without breaking to the point that the whole is lost.
TRIAD
Consciousness, space, and time are one “event.”
“Event” here does not mean something that happens in time,
but one case of holding,
read in three ways:
as time — where the course does not collapse in duration,
as space — where distinction does not collapse in separation,
as consciousness — where this holding appears as a whole.
These are not three components,
but three names for the same case of readability.
SUBJECT
Consciousness does not mean that it is “for itself.”
It is not the property of a subject —
“subject” here is not a bearer,
but a later designation for a stability that holds within this whole.
Consciousness is not something that someone has.
It is a state in which the world is established as a whole.
THRESHOLD
A stone is not less conscious.
For a stone, this particular case of the coupling of space and time into a whole did not occur —
“did not occur” here does not mean that something is missing,
but that the course did not hold above the threshold of readability where it would be possible to speak of a whole.
This is not a difference in degree,
but a difference between occurrence and non-occurrence.
The threshold of readability is not a boundary that can be determined.
It is not a point where something “switches on.”
It is only the difference between cases
that hold as a whole,
and those that collapse before a whole can be established.
Consciousness cannot be verified from the outside.
It can only be spoken of where a whole appears.
GEOMETRY
The description of consciousness is a description of a “geometry of coupling,”
in which, in one “point,” space and time couple into the readability of a whole —
“geometry” here is not a structure of reality,
but a way of describing a co-presence of distinctions that does not collapse,
and “point” is not a place,
but an expression of the fact that the whole is not spread out, but held as a single case.
DIMENSIONS
The question of multidimensional reality does not change this.
“Dimensions” are ways of describing distinction,
not a ground from which readability would be composed.
No matter how many dimensions there are,
the same remains:
either the whole holds,
or it collapses before it can be read as a whole.
